Motherboards from AOpen, ECS and Winfast are very similar. However AOpen decided to install fan on the north bridge which is hardly justified for a budget segment. Well, this product looks more attractive than the rest. ECS released the largest motherboard of all tested thus ensured a well-balanced layout. Winfast is the only model with imbedded FireWire chip and this is specifically emphasized by the producer. At the same time the Winfast product lacks any overclocking features while AOpen and ECS have demonstrated great overclocking capabilities for cheap motherboards.

However AOpen got to be the only manufacturer that supplied RAID drivers (on a floppy disk required during the Windows installation). As regards the equipping the Winfast acts as standard-setter but it’s immediately followed by ECS – it offers colour-coded connectors ad three-phase power stabilizer. Generally speaking we failed to identify the stick-out so the choice is yours.
